Rice Water Magic

Filipinos are known to be rice eater. We usually cannot go on a breakfast without rice. Also, some scientific research show that rice can be use as medical treatment. The different benefits and uses of rice are as follows: instantly energizes the body due to the high concentration of carbohydrates, provides instant relief from diarrhea, has been used successfully to treat gastroenteritis, prevents cancer, controls high blood pressure, helps in preventing Alzheimer's disease, reduces the body temperature or internal heat of the body, prevents constipation. In other words, there's a lot of health benefits that eating rice would provide. But wait,  there is more, rice water has been used as a face wash and a hair wash by some Muslim community and Asian countries. Let me tell you some "skin care benefits" of using rice water as part of your daily regimen.Washing your face with rice water makes your skin very soft and helps improve the complexion. It is a great substitute for toner and firms up your skin. It also helps in minimizing the pores for a finer skin. Washing your hair with rice water brings shine in the hair and helps to keep it healthy. Follow up with cold water rinse.Powdered rice grains are also used as body scrub and they make your skin extra soft.

How to make rice water?
The water used to wash rice prior to cooking is rice water. But, that is not the actual rice water. You may collect it but it will not give you the full benefits. Instead, you should boil the rice in more water than usual quantity you use so that the rice does not absorb all the water and strain the extra water. This water is the actual rice water which is full of nutritional benefits. You may drink it or let it cool to use as a face wash or a hair wash. You may even garnish it with various spices and herbs.

How to apply it?
Collect the water in a basin or bowl. Wash your face clean with your regular cleanser and then rinse your face with the rice water before toweling dry. You can then proceed to moisturize as per normal. If you’re worried that the rice is unclean, then only keep the water after washing the rice the second time.  But this is something you need to persist if you want to see results like what some of the girls have reported.  Anyway, rice water is quite pleasant to use and you can pad the water on your face like a toner too.

Pacquiao vs Bradley

In the main event of the Pacquiao vs. Bradley HBO pay-per-view (PPV) that took place last night (Sat., June 9, 2012) at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, pound-for-pound great Manny Pacquiao returned to the ring to put his WBO welterweight championship on the line against undefeated banger Timothy Bradley.
And the mighty has fallen.
Pacquiao settled into a nice groove early, firing off punches that were landing with shocking precision. His speed was clearly an issue for Bradley, just as Freddie Roach said it would be.
That didn't mean "Desert Storm" would go out easy. Indeed, he made it a brawl when he could, engaging "Pacman" with heavy counter punches winging wildly around the ring.
But Pacquiao's relentless left hand was finding its mark far too often. And when he unleashed with flurries, Bradley's discomfort was palpable, his pain visible. He spun his head every which way to avoid Pacquiao's onslaught but the Filipino fighting machine was a sniper at close range, every shot seemingly hitting its target point with power like Bradley had never felt before.
As the fight wore on, Manny's problematic calves weren't the story so much as Bradley's legs were. Which is to say, the former held up fine while the latter stayed in a constant state of unsteadiness. Fatigue started to set in with the challenger fading fast under the champion's relentless pressure.
But then Bradley caught a second win late and came with everything he had.

He smothered "Pacman" and landed hard counter punches while Pacquiao seemed to settle down and cruise to the scorecards. Unfortunately, they betrayed him.
The judges awarded Bradley a split decision victory by scores of 115-113, 113-115, 115-113.
Pacquiao's fight is always trending on twitter. And base on my sources, there was a rumor that Pacqiao lose the fight because he was going to leave Bob Arum. Due to the defeat of Manny, many people all over the world were brokenhearted but nonetheless, Manny was still so grateful for everything. He will always be the "Boxing Champ". Now, the fans of Manny Pacquiao were looking forward for Manny vs Bradley fight!

Miami To NBA Finals

BOSTON -- LeBron James pushed away elimination, right along with any defender who tried to stop him.
He wasn't going to let another season end in Boston. The Eastern Conference finals, and his chase of an NBA championship, are headed back to Miami for a Game 7.
James had 45 points and 15 rebounds, overwhelming the Celtics and leading the Heat to a 98-79 victory Thursday night that forced the decisive game.

"He was absolutely fearless tonight, and it was contagious," Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said. "The way he approached the last 48 hours, and not only LeBron, but everybody else. Nobody likes getting dirt thrown on your face before you're even dead. He showed great resolve."
James shot 19 of 26 from the field and finished four points shy of his playoff career-high while playing 45 minutes, not sitting down until the victory was long secured.
After two days of questions about the Heat's future and his own history, James provided his response in resounding fashion in a building where Miami had lost 15 of its previous 16 games.
"In an environment like this, you want to have a big game," he said. "I wanted to be there for my teammates, no matter what was going on throughout the course of the game.
"This was a gut check for us, and it's good to see we were able to bounce back after that loss, after that Game 5 loss at home."
Dwyane Wade added 17 points for the Heat, who need a victory at home Saturday night to return to the NBA Finals. And if James plays like this again, Miami should have no problem getting it.
"He played amazing. He was locked in from the beginning of the game like I've never seen him before," Wade said.
Rajon Rondo had 21 points and 10 assists for Boston. Kevin Garnett and Brandon Bass each scored 12 points, but Paul Pierce had only nine on 4-of-18 shooting.
In the site of some of James' biggest disappointments, the only disappointed ones Thursday were the thousands of fans who hoped to see a celebration but instead filed out of the TD Garden midway through the fourth quarter, just before the league MVP called it a night.
"He was comfortable all night," Rondo said. "We didn't get into his air space."
Miami barely won Game 2 before dropping the next three games, but this one was never in doubt. James was a one-man force on what's supposed to be a Big Three, carrying the Heat in the first half while Wade made only 1 of 6 shots.
The Celtics were hoping to complete a comeback from a 2-0 deficit, as Oklahoma City did in the Western Conference, and advance to face the Thunder in the NBA Finals. But they missed 13 of 14 3-point attempts and will have to win a second straight game in Miami to play for the title.
James' season was twice ended in Boston while playing for Cleveland, the Celtics emerging as the winner in a Pierce-James duel in Game 7 of the 2008 East semifinals, then beating the Cavs in Game 6 of the second round two years later.
That was James' last game with Cleveland, leaving that summer for Miami and the All-Star help that Wade and Chris Bosh could provide.
He needed none of it Thursday.
He had 30 points by halftime and spent the night silencing the Celtics crowd and perhaps some of the doubters he somehow still has. He set the tone for the game by making 6 of 7 shots and scoring 14 points in the first quarter, and he made sure the Heat were never challenged from there.
"I hope now you guys can stop talking about LeBron and he doesn't play in big games," Celtics coach Doc Rivers said. "He was pretty good tonight. So we can put that to bed and go play Game 7."
Meanwhile, Pierce, whose 3-pointer over James was the biggest basket of Boston's Game 5 victory, missed 13 of 16 shots through three quarters, including all six 3-point attempts.
The Heat obviously weren't deflated by that loss and came to fight, scoring 10 straight points to build a 10-point lead shortly after Mario Chalmers was called for a technical foul after getting mixed up with Ray Allen. They extended it to 12 points later in the period, taking a 26-16 lead into the second after shooting 58 percent in the period.
Wade finally got on the board with a jumper to open the second, but he seemed strangely passive even with Miami trying to save its season.
No matter. James didn't need the help.
He had consecutive baskets for a 15-point lead and came up with a basket every time the Celtics tried to get any rhythm. He soared high above the rim -- and any other player -- for a follow dunk after the Celtics had crept within eight in the final two minutes of the half. Miami led 55-42 at the break.
James made 12 of his first 13 shots before missing from the perimeter on his final attempt of the half.
Only Rondo kept it from being a blowout, scoring 19 points and adding five assists in the half. Relishing the challenge, he even emulated Garnett by doing a couple of knuckle pushups after being knocked to the court while drawing a foul, but he couldn't keep up with James and needed some help that never arrived.
The Celtics, trying desperately for one last championship before the expected breakup of their Big Three, hope this one doesn't get added to recent series losses against Orlando in 2009 and the Lakers in the NBA Finals in 2010, when they lost Game 6s with chances to win series and then fell in Game 7.
James' first basket of the third quarter increased the lead to 17 points, and from there it was just a matter of coming up with another score any time the Celtics tried to make a run.
Boston never came close, and when a 3-pointer by Shane Battier made it 81-63 with 10:19 to play, Rivers spent part of a timeout standing alone on the court with his arms folded, leaving it to the players to try to come up with an answer that wasn't there.
Bosh entered with 5½ minutes left in the first quarter of his second game back after missing nine with a lower abdominal strain, finishing with seven points and six rebounds.
Notes

  • James is the first player to score at least 25 points against the Celtics in eight consecutive postseason games since Kareem Abdul-Jabbar from April 28, 1974, to May 27, 1984.
  • The NBA playoff record for points in a half is 39, set by Golden State's Eric "Sleepy" Floyd on May 10, 1987, against the Lakers. Floyd finished with 51 points.
  • The Heat switched to their red road jerseys after losing in the black here earlier in the series.

Love Rain

Love Rain is all about pure love – “a love that means never having to say sorry”. It shows how the offspring of a previously ill-fated couple, who met in the 1970’s, managed to meet and fall in love.

Jang Geun Suk (famous Korean singer and actor) and Yoon ah (Girls Generation singer and Korean actress) are the main characters of this love story. The 1970’s story-line follows the popular and musically-gifted art major In-Ha (Jang Geun Suk), who encounters a female student at his university, the beautiful, gentle and soft-spoken Yoon-Hee (Yoona), and finds himself hooked having fallen for her in three seconds. And that’s how their unfinished love story started.

Go and find out more about this Korean drama at dramacrazy.net.

I personally commend this Korean drama! Yoona and Jang Geun Suk really make a good love team, although Yoona is not that good in acting J Jang Geun Suk can still manage. He is such a great actor!
You must watch!

Brain Damaging Habits

1. No BreakfastPeople who do not take breakfast are going to have a lower blood sugar level. This leads to aninsufficient supply of nutrients to the brain causingbrain degeneration.
2. OvereatingIt causes hardening of the brain arteries, leading toa decrease in mental power.
3. SmokingIt causes multiple brain shrinkage and may lead toAlzheimer disease.
4. High Sugar ConsumptionToo much sugar will interrupt the absorption ofproteins and nutrients causing malnutrition and may interfere with brain development.
5. Air PollutionThe brain is the largest oxygen consumer in ourbody. Inhaling polluted air decreases the supply ofoxygen to the brain, bringing about a decrease inbrain efficiency.
6. Sleep DeprivationSleep allows our brain to rest. Long termdeprivation from sleep will accelerate the death ofbrain cells.
7. Head covered while sleepingSleeping with the head covered, increases the concentration of carbon dioxide and decreaseconcentration of oxygen that may lead to braindamaging effects.
8. Working your brain during illnessWorking hard or studying with sickness may leadto a decrease in effectiveness of the brain as well as damage the brain.
9. Lacking in stimulating thoughtsThinking is the best way to train our brain, lackingin brain stimulation thoughts may cause brainshrinkage.

One Direction

One Direction started their journey in a competition: “The X Factor” which gave way to their fame. Truly, this hot British-Irish boy band consisting of members - Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson has that "X Factor" as a group. Currently, they are under America's Columbia Records (the oldest brand name in pre-recorded sound, beng the first record company to produce pre-recorded records in 1888).They don’t have much album yet they hit the top list of the most viewed music videos in youtube and became the “talk of the town”. And their debut album that was released last September of previous year just hit the market in just a snap. That album gave them a great break in their career, having "what Makes You Beautiful" awarded for Best British Single at the 2012 BRIT Awards.

Whew! This band is truly amazing. I personally admire their great talent, especially Liam Payne. I really like his voice! I hope that this British-Irish boy band would continue to shine.

Thriving Student

When I was studying a degree in Silliman University, all I know was “studying” is the toughest work ever. But when I graduated college, I realize that finding an actual job is even tougher!

How did I survive in my college life? Oh well, there’s this one night when I found myself trying so hard “burning midnight candles” just to excel in class yet so unfruitful and here’s my dorm friends having fun all day and all night not even bothered about their studies yet excels in class! What’s up with them? Then, I started going out with them, having fun with them and just enjoying everything! They invited me to church and there I get to know Christ, received the gift of salvation from Him and decided to live my life for Him. Since then, my life as student changed! As a student starting in my walk with God, I hold on to the scriptures in Matthew 6:33 “But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness and all these things will be given to you as well.”  Every day of my life I made sure to prioritize God. In everything that I do, I would consider God. I pray before I study, I serve before I play and I don’t compromise Sunday services even at moments when my exams were heavy  and my student load were full. I enjoyed every day of my student life having fellowships, victory groups and one2one yet I did not fail in my subjects. I don’t even have to struggle just to pass my course. There were favours upon favours, blessings upon blessings and breakthroughs upon breakthroughs in each and every area of my life not just in my studies! Right there and then I discovered my purpose in life, and it is to honour God and make disciples. It’s crazy but so true. It seems like I won a jackpot prize in lotto plus a genie in a bottle with unlimited wish, but it’s more than that. I realized that all I need was God.  I don’t have to compromise my time with God just to get what I want but instead to hold on to Him and let Him do the work for me and allow His purpose for my life to be fulfilled! In Him, I had the strength to do everything and anything without worrying about something! I mean, He is the only source of my entire being! Because of Him, I was able to thrive and finished my degree in Bachelor of Science in Physics in Silliman University in exactly 4 yrs.
Now that I’m already finished with my college life, I don’t really know where to go. The field is too broad to be specific. So many competent people that I must face and so many obstacles to overcome, yet I’m secured that my God won’t let me down! I’m so excited to see my future and to grasp it with my hands. I know it would be great for my God’s will is good, pleasing and perfect! C’mon!

PS: please bear with my English and Grammar, I'm still on the process of recalling my stock-up knowledge... Enjoy!
